Research projects
A GL Insight research project answers a question you set about global payments. We use the same methods and sources as our published research on stablecoins, real-time and cross-border payments, card networks, payment fraud and regulation, and we show every assumption so your team can rerun the numbers.
Forms of research
Custom reports
A report on a question you set, with charts, sources and the underlying data. A report can be for your internal use only, or co-branded and published. Common subjects are the size and growth of a payments market, what a new rule means for your product or licence, and which markets, licences and partners a market entry needs.
Sponsored studies
A survey or thematic study that you fund and GL Insight designs, writes and publishes under its own name. You can propose the topic, and we set the questions, the method and the conclusions. You review the draft for factual errors and confidential information, and your name appears on the cover and on the study’s web page.
Due diligence research
For investors and acquirers, a research view of a payments company’s market, competitors and regulatory exposure, with a test of the assumptions behind its plan, delivered on the deal timetable.
How research projects work
- Brief. You tell us the decision the research needs to support and when you need it.
- Scope. We reply with the questions we will answer, the method, the deliverables and the fee.
- Research. We collect and analyse the data, and share early findings with you before the final draft.
- Delivery. You receive a written report with charts, sources and the underlying data, and we walk your team through the findings on a call.
Independence
Our research is objective and independent. Clients can sponsor research, every sponsor is named, and sponsorship does not change the findings.
Start a research project
Once the report is delivered, an advisory retainer keeps the people who wrote it available while you act on it. See Advisory.
Tell us the question you need answered, and we will reply with a proposed scope.
